Terms of Service

1. What MoovSource is

MoovSource is a marketplace that connects customers who need a move with independent, third-party moving companies. MoovSource is not a moving company, does not employ any mover, and does not pack, carry, or transport anyone's belongings. Every move is performed entirely by the moving company the customer selects, under that company's own licensing, insurance, and professional judgment.

2. Accounts

You need an account to request quotes, book a move, or list a moving company on MoovSource. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity on your account. Moving companies must provide accurate licensing and insurance information during signup — MoovSource reviews this before a company goes live, but that review doesn't replace a customer's own judgment when choosing a company.

3. Payments and the escrow hold

When you book a move, your payment is charged immediately but held by MoovSource — it does not transfer to the moving company until you confirm the move went well, or until a review period passes without a report of a problem. This hold exists to give you a real chance to flag an issue before the company is paid; it is not a guarantee against every possible problem with a move, and it does not cover property damage beyond the amount you paid for the move itself. A company's insurance, where applicable, is the right place to pursue a claim for property damage.

4. Cancellations

You can cancel free of charge up until 48 hours before your move date, and always within the first hour after booking regardless of how close the move date is. Canceling between 24–48 hours before the move withholds 15% of the price as a fee to the company that held the slot for you; canceling less than 24 hours before withholds 40%. A company that cancels on you is never permitted to charge a fee, and you'll be refunded in full.

5. Disputes

If something goes wrong, report it through the app rather than disputing the charge with your bank directly — that keeps the payment held so MoovSource can review it, rather than taking the decision out of everyone's hands. MoovSource will review the report, give the company a chance to respond, and decide whether to release the payment or refund you. That decision is made in good faith based on the information available, but MoovSource is not a court and this process doesn't replace or limit whatever legal rights you otherwise have.

Tell us the condition of your items. When you request a quote you describe each item's condition and any damage or problems it already has, and at checkout you confirm that description is accurate. Please be thorough — it's what any later claim is measured against. You can also photograph your items before the move from My moves.

The pickup report covers visible condition only. Before a move can be marked delivered, the moving company files a report at pickup with photos (all around, for boats, vehicles and heavy specialty items) and notes any visible damage. You're emailed a link to it and can tell us if it's wrong. If a company files no damage, MoovSource reviews a later claim of visible damage as if the item was undamaged when it was picked up. The report does not vouch for what can't be seen — the inside of wrapped, boxed or assembled items, or whether something works — and a company that couldn't inspect or test an item will say so.

Report problems early, with photos. Please look your items over at drop-off, before the crew leaves. A problem noticed then is the easiest to resolve. You can report a problem within the review window after delivery; reports made after the crew has left are reviewed more strictly and need clear photos. Damage claims must include a photo. A claim that something “doesn't work” is generally not covered unless you told the company it was working before booking and can show it, because function usually can't be inspected at pickup. Claims are reviewed against the photos, notes and history on both sides, and MoovSource may refund in full, in part, or release the payment to the company.

Limits. The most MoovSource will refund for a booking is the amount you paid for that move; any loss beyond that is between you and the moving company (and its insurance). Some things aren't covered at all — for example cash and small valuables, important documents, firearms, perishables and hazardous materials, and high-value art or antiques that weren't declared in advance — see what isn't covered. Deadlines, how decisions are made, and what to include in a claim are set out in How claims work, which is part of these Terms.

Honesty matters. Knowingly misdescribing an item, or claiming damage that was already there, can lead to a claim being denied, an account being limited or closed, and the information on record being given to your bank or payment provider if a charge is disputed. We keep a record of your confirmation at checkout, the device and address you booked from, and the photos and reports on a booking for this purpose.

6. Moving companies

Companies listed on MoovSource are independent businesses, not MoovSource employees or agents. MoovSource takes a commission out of each completed booking (never added on top of what the customer pays) and reserves the right to remove a company from the marketplace for repeated disputes, chargebacks, low ratings, or any conduct that undermines trust in the platform.

7. Limitation of liability

MoovSource facilitates the connection and payment between customers and moving companies, and operates the escrow and dispute process described above. MoovSource is not liable for the acts, omissions, delays, or damage caused by a moving company during a move. To the extent permitted by law, MoovSource's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the booking in question.

8. Changes

MoovSource may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
